Live commentary: Germany v England

Gabriel Agbonlahor, the Aston Villa forward, has been handed his England debut by Fabio Capello for tonight's friendly against Germany in Berlin.

The 22-year-old has been in outstanding form for Villa recently, scoring eight goals in all competitions. He was picked alongside Jermain Defoe in attack when it had been felt a more likely partner would be Peter Crouch or Darren Bent.

His selection also went against Capello's stated intention to field an experienced team.

However, the Italian kept his pledge elsewhere, with Shaun Wright-Phillips, Michael Carrick and Stewart Downing included in midfield alongside Gareth Barry, one of only four survivors from the victory over Belarus in last month's World Cup qualifier.

Portsmouth's Glen Johnson plays at right-back, with John Terry returning as captain despite fears about a foot injury he suffered on Saturday.
